Book Reviews in this Issue

This issue of Wordgathering includes reviews of six new books. Three of them are fiction: Michael Uniacke's historical novel about Deaf education in nineteenth century England, Kristin Witucki's young adult novel featuring a blind protagonist, and Catherine Edmunds multi-narrator novel set in contemporary England that includes the point of view of a man with Asperger's. There are two collections of poetry up for review. One is a single author collection by Meg Eden, the other is an anthology of poems about Alzheimer's edited by Anna Evans. The final book is Ona Gritz's account of her personal experiences as a mother with cerebral palsy.

In addition to the above selections, readers may want to check out the excerpt from In June, the Labyrinth poet Cynthia Hogue's book in progress in the Excerpts section.

Wordgathering is extremely lucky to have four talented writers as reviews for this issue: Rebecca Foust, Therése Halsheid, Anne Kaier, and J. L. Powers. The journal also welcomes hearing from writers who are intereted in writing book reviews Writers or publishers interested in having a disability-related book reviewed in Wordgathering should first send a query, briefly describing the book.
